The club had little activity in the 2016-2017 school year and we would like to re-build a strong leadership team in order to help graduate students interested in business have a smooth transition from academia into the business world once they graduate.

Board Positions Available for Recruitment (Fall 2017):
The Director of Networking will help plan and host happy hour events at The Queens Head. This will include inviting a guest from companies, booking the venue, procuring drink tickets and appetizers, and in some cases, securing sponsorship for the event. In addition, the Director of Networking will help to keep track of any professional networking events or other professional conferences going on in Boston area (including in the Harvard Business School and other universities) and communicate such opportunities to club members. Furthermore, they will also participate in at least one such networking opportunity in the area monthly. They will also aid the Director of Internal Affairs in the development and maintenance of an alumni database. Finally, the Associate Directors are also welcomed to initiate his or her own programs or events. Candidates with prior experience in events organization and communicating with external parties would be preferred.
The Director of Career Development will help to plan monthly career seminars. Responsibilities will include helping to find and contact speakers (GSAS alums), scheduling according to the speaker’s needs, arranging for a venue and refreshments or meals. The Director will also assist the President to embark on a new project to design programs for HGBC members that would enhance their soft skills and capabilities to ace their interviews and excel at their jobs. Candidates with prior experience in initiating and managing events would be preferred.
The Director of Entrepreneurship will be responsible for assisting the Director of Entrepreneurship in coordinating a series of monthly meetings including discussions, seminars, and workshops, designed to foster innovation within the GSAS community and across Harvard Schools. Responsibilities will include planning events, making room reservations, and ordering food. Candidates should have a strong interest in entrepreneurship, new technology management, or product design. Real-world entrepreneurial experience is preferred but not required.
The Associate Director of Business Talks will be responsible for organizing a monthly business talks event – this will include finding MBA students or working professionals to lead the discussion, booking rooms, ordering food, etc. Besides the business talks, opportunities to initiate and organize new events on business education will also be provided. Candidates should have a broad interest in business topics, preferably demonstrated through past or current activities and experiences.
The Associate Director of Mini-MBA will be assisting the Co-Directors of Mini-MBA in areas pertaining to student affairs and administration. Responsibilities include checking email and responding to Mini-MBA enquiries, email listserves to publicize the Mini-MBA, and send out relevant course announcements. The Associate Director will also assist with managing the finances and budget for the Mini-MBA program. Candidates with strong organizational capabilities and business communication skills are preferred.
